Boss Bitches Hustle Harder

Hustle hustle hustle hustle hard hard hard hard.... my life right now.

Between school starting back up on Monday for my Naturalist degree, my bookkeeping gig, my commitment to spiritual growth that has me continually engaged in some workshop or another, being a single mama to a strong-willed teenager, running a part time dog boarding business, and my mobile art sculptures, I stay hustling, hard.

Me and my crew hustling hard. jk- it's Lil Wayne, my favorite rapper.

There's an amazing website for creative entrepreneurs, Being Boss, with a wealth of knowledge on taking your side hustle to being boss as well as many other super important topics like self-care, burn-out, manifesting abundance, money management, and the list goes on. These women that run this mutha*#%&er are beyond amazing and have given me, through their podcasts and articles, more than I could ever repay.

Some habits I have taken on to keep myself healthy and engaged on whats really important are:

  • Clean eating- I cheat here and there because I have an insatiable sweet tooth; but I try hard to stay on a plant based diet and am by no means a perfectionist. I cut out caffeine every once in a while to challenge myself and I detox or fast at least twice a year for cellular regeneration.

  • Some form of exercise- I've been doing yard work as exercise almost daily. Its summer in the Carolina Mountains and that means unyielding weeds shooting out of every crack and crevice in my yard. I have half an acre so no matter how much I "exercise", its still pretty much out of control haha.

  • Non-negotiable free time- for meditating, walking/hiking in nature, praying, reading, contemplating, playing with doggies, exploring new places, playing with friends, netflix and chill- whatever floats your boat.

  • Being receptive and grateful- meaning expecting goodness, abundance, gifts from the universe. Hoping for the best, living with integrity, being an optimist, smiling, and being utterly and immensely grateful for everything from the shining sun to the warm cup of tea. We are extravagantly abundant here as Americans. There is really nothing to complain about in my book.

  • And last but not least; Hustling. When I say hustling I mean staying aware and present on my goals by maintaining a positive mindset, always being involved in something that challenges me to learn and grow, pushing harder, showing up, crawling out of my comfort zone if need be.

Ted Talks are also a great way for me to stay engaged on my interests and goals; they're my 'go to' while I'm on my elliptical. Never stop learning.
